The Office of the Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk is recruiting for Auditor-Appraiser Trainees who work under close supervision in a training capacity to learn how to apply prior accounting and auditing knowledge to develop an audit of reported costs. Essential duties include analyzing and auditing ledgers, journals, financial statements, past income tax returns and other accounting information in order to conduct audit-appraisals of a wide range of commercial-industrial business concerns; reviewing annual Business Property Statements to arrive at an appraisal for personal property; inspecting business personal property including office equipment, merchandise, machinery; and reconciling differences from accounting records.
